Promoting Global Knowledge Exchange through “hhc Initiative 2022”

On December 14, 2022, the “hhc Initiative 2022” was held online connecting the Eisai Headquarters with various countries and regions around the world. ý 220 people from around the world participated in this event, including CEO Naito, Professor Ikujiro Nonaka (Professor Emeritus, Hitotsubashi University), Dr. Akihiro Okumura (Professor Emeritus, Keio University), COO Okada, Eisai Directors and Corporate Officers, in addition to senior managers and hhc managers from various Eisai subsidiaries worldwide.

 

hhc Initiative is an annual event that recognizes and shares internal innovation activities implemented to realize the hhc corporate concept, aiming to increase the understanding of the importance of innovative initiatives that emphasize health care from the patients' perspective, and to promote further innovation by sharing these results.

Themes with the most outstanding achievement are selected and awards are given in two categories: the hhc Driven Innovation Activities Award and the Eisai Innovation  Paper Award.

 

In this year’s “hhc Initiative 2022”, there were 527 entries in hhc Driven Innovation Activities and 35 entries in Eisai Innovation Paper that were based on socialization, spending time together with patients and their families from various countries and regions around the world.

Among them, 14 outstanding activity themes including the following were commended: decentralized clinical trials to minimize the burden on patients and caregivers during in the COVID pandemic (U.S. etc.), activities for the realization of a society living in seamless harmony with dementia (Japan), a series of short podcasts featuring influencers with metastatic breast cancer where they share the difficulties they face and how they are living their lives (U.K.), knowledge exchange with a patient group aiming to create a society that understands the rare disease narcolepsy (Japan), the creation of a website for people living with dementia and their caregivers, and a guide to support caregivers (Malaysia).
